It seems like so much has happened since my initial appearance on this blog. Fashion is changing,albums dropping, we are slowly going back to the 80’s. Last nights’ BET Music Awards was just the motivation I needed to get this show back on the road. I am so proud of our ladies and gents doing the’ damn thang in entertainment. Diana Ross, who speaks with the most commanding yet soft voice I have ever heard, made raised the bar when she made a simple statement about all the bumping and grinding and explicit scenes we are allowing to serve as a symbol of what our music is about. We ( as black people) should be holding our heads up, shoulders back, and waltzing as if we owned this land.We ( as women )should demand respect from each and every man who steps to us and demand we are treated with class. Basically what I mean is, it’s time to gain that respect back. The legends, Diana, Patti, Gladys, Aretha will never ever be forgotten but it seems the women in entertainment are losing more and more of there inner goddess… It’s time to take our music back…..
Ok! ( thanks for letting me vent) Did you see the scorching style on display last night ? Red was everywhere! Robin Thicke ( who is fine as hell for a white boy) had his background dancers looking glam in red dresses, Monique came out in a sexy halter dress looking ” fiyah”, and even some of the BET special guest ( whose names escape me ) had the after parties “blazing” with red pieces. Here are a few photos that I found and as you can see no matter your age or weight, you to can look stunning in a fierce red dress.

I just returned from a guilt filled yet yummy lunch with my co-workers and we got on the topic of shoes. As you know, i am not a shoe horse really…I have a fetish for handbags. However, I do love shopping for great summer shoes for all occasions. My co-worker (a former employee of the Dillards’ womens shoe department) stated that Donald J. Pliner and Guess have some great stylish yet comfy shoes. I begged to differ but was willing to research this fact. So when I returned to my desk I decided to review their websites to see if I could find anything that would tickle my fancy.
Surprisingly (and after much searching) I found a few shoes I could add to my wish list:

Greetings fellow Lemondrop readers. My name is Lyric Daniel, a fashion publicist and freelance writer from Houston, TX. I am very pleased to have the opportunity to join this team of fashionable sistahs. Although I love apparel I have a fetish for accessories! Belts, earrings, bangles, jackets, handbags, and shoes you name it and I’m on top of it. My list can literally go on and on. Ok so now that you know a little bit about who I am, let’s jump right on in. Let’s talk about the addition of fabulous outerwear to your wardrobe. A nice jacket, blazer, or crop jacket can dramatically change a regular outfit from blah to banging. Take the picture of Ciara below for example. We can all agree that she is a beautiful, talented girl who has a great sense of style, (or a brilliant stylist), but what makes this outfit fierce is the scorching red jacket on top. My second pic is no comparison to the first because it’s runway diva Eva Marcille, (a*k*a Eva Pigford), but the focus is the jacket. Remove the jacket and its just a nice black shirt, cute jeans and some fiyah (fire) a*s boots. (Dang I love those boots). Now add a seriously hot jacket and WOW. Nothing else is to be said! (Eva was working that runway during Mercedes Fall Fashion week, you go girl).
So my challenge to you all is this? Throw a jacket that normally would not perfectly match. At the last minute when you think you attire for the day/night is complete, push it to the limit by trying to find a cute coat or cropped jacket to set it off just right. ** Warning, once you step you wardrobe game up you may become an accessory addict such as me.
But hey it is what it is….(-:

I am a huge fan of Wendy Williams (the radio diva) and her radio show “The Wendy Williams Experience”. Recently, Wendy has been discussing weight loss tips and tricks used by some of her listeners. The most recent discovery that she will be trying out is the Medisana Micro Massaging shorts:
She purchased the legging versions (they have a shorts option as well) After one day of wearing attempting to put on curve HURTING get-ups, Wendy couldn’t take it. She said they were too damn tight and frustrating. However, one of her staff members tried the shorts, slept in them for 8 hours, and she claims the toned her cellulite overnight. She went from 3 dimples to 1…WOW!
Of course there is a catch - you must wear the shorts at least 8hrs per day to see results. Supposedly these shorts are supposed to trim inches off the area it covers (i.e. your tummy, thighs, etc.)
